The Mkushi Agricultural and Commercial Show is an event that is held annually in the District of Mkushi.
This area is a major farming district in Zambia, with some of the highest production figures in the country, having contributed over 500,000+MT of maize, to the national food basket each year. It is a farming community that consists of both emerging and commercial farmers, growing a wide variety of produce, including maize, wheat, soyabeans, barley, potatoes, tomatoes, and much more. Many farmers have also diversified into livestock, playing important roles in the emerging poultry, swine and beef industries.
With Zambia emerging as a hub within Central Africa, Mkushi is emerging as the agricultural hub of Zambia. With abundant water, and high quality farming land, as well as increased foreign direct investment, Mkushi is becoming a place where agricultural suppliers, are increasingly wanting to market their products. There is no better place to do this, than at the annual Mkushi Agricultural and Commercial Show, where suppliers and farmers can come together in a fun and diverse event.
We are also pleased to see that Mkushi is an attractive destination for businesses in the commercial sector, with many companies looking to do business, and set-up offices in this emerging, agricultural area. As a show society, we welcome exhibitors from across the spectrum, and look forward to hosting you, and introducing you to the friendliness, and diversity that makes the Mkushi District what it is.
As well as hosting a wide variety of exhibitors, the show also promises a range of entertainment, including Jumping Castles, Gift – The Fire Juggler, Amayenge Asoza – with special guests, Competitions, Prizes, Roadshows, Drama, and much more. We are also proud to display the considerable talent of our local Boys Brigade, and Majorettes, who continue to improve year on year.
This year’s show will held from 23rd to 24th June 2017, under the national theme “Promoting a Green Economy”. We hope to have over 80 businesses exhibiting their products and services, and we will see our usual 11,000+ showgo-ers passing through our gates.
